I started to write the same thing. Some people, both men and women, hate anyone more attractive than them or anyone who can be competition. Most people don't care. There are people who go out of their way to hurt their own sex so they can get the attention of whatever sex they find attractive. They make snide or derogatory comments to anyone they view as competition. If they are disliked, it's not because of their looks but because of their attitude.
